May i know if last year company lost 100K and Current year lost 10K it is consider growth ?

Hi All

 

May i know which of the below expression i should use ?

 

Below expression will display -ve growth :-

Vari %_NP = if(isblank( divide([SUM_YTD]-[SUM_LYTD],[SUM_LYTD])),1, divide([SUM_YTD]-[SUM_LYTD],[SUM_LYTD]))
 
Below expression will display +ve growth :-
Vari %_ = divide([SUM_YTD]-[SUM_LYTD],abs([SUM_LYTD]),1)

Hi Paul,

I'm not sure what question you are asking.

The 2 pieces of DAX you've written will show you change (growth?) compared to last year - and are virtually identical except one may give a a minus sign in front of the number.

But if the real question is given that in a previous year a company lost 100K and then in the following year 'only' lost 10K - do you consider growth?  Personally I guess I would consider that improvment (growth) but the answer really depends on your own business and what its targets are.
