Hi - I am able to create a matrix with a monthly view comparing Actual to Budget with the Variance at the bottom. Example matrix and measure below.
Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | |
Actual | 21 | 26 | 28 | 29 | 28 |
Budget | 26 | 26 | 26 | 26 | 26 |
Variance | 5 | 0 | -2 | -3 | -2 |
Measure = VAR A=MAXX(ALLSELECTED('Table'[TYPE]),[TYPE])
VAR B=MINX(ALLSELECTED('Table'[TYPE]),[TYPE])
RETURN
If(HASONEFILTER('Table'[TYPE]),sum('Table'[UNITS]),CALCULATE(sum('Table'[UNITS]),'Table'[TYPE]=A)-CALCULATE(sum('Table'[UNITS]),'Table'[TYPE]=B))
I am trying to create a matrix where it uses the same information but does a YTD average for Actual by Month as well and rounds up to calculate the variance row. Desired example output below.
Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | |
Actual | 21 | 24 | 25 | 26 | 27 |
Budget | 26 | 26 | 26 | 26 | 26 |
Variance | 5 | 2 | 1 | 0 | -1 |
@Anonymous , Try a new measure on existing measure
averagex(summarize(Date, Date[month year],"_1",CALCULATE([Measure],DATESYTD('Date'[Date],"12/31"))),[_1])
To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :
