Matrix visual performance

Hi,

I have a question if you are familiar with a problem with performance of report containing matrix visual when there subtotals enabled ?

The got big decrease of performance while using drill down option and subtotals enabled, when I disable subtotals it works fine.

So far only solution I found is to remove subtotals , then the matrix works much faster and add another visual for totals.

hi, @Marcin

subtotals in matrix will recalculate from the whole list for each column and each row by measure. So it will affect performance of visual.

Major optimization methods:

Use import instead of DirectQuery

optimization the dax formula

Hi @v-lili6-msft,

I am using import mode, my matrix has 14 measures on values and 8 levels of hierachy.

I checked with Dax Studio how long it takes to get to next level of hierachy and its like 1-2 sec with no subtotals, and 5-7 seconds with subtotals and getting depper with drilling the performance is deacrising.

Any suggestions ?

Marcin
