Master Dashboard

I have a number of metrics across projects. I use a different pbix file for each project.

The metrics are the same across the projects.

I am looking into creating a Master-Dashboard where the metrics are essentially added / merged together.
I am aware of the method to pin visuals and feed into another report - wouldn't work for this case, the data needs to be merged

I am wondering if there is a smart BI method to do this

or

Do I just need to create a new pbix, import data from all projects, merge columns in Power Query

You cannot access multiple Power BI Datasets at this time. Just one at a time, so right now Power Query is your best bet. If your data was in Data Flows, it would be already modeled for you and is a great use case for Data Flows vs redoing all of the work in a new PBIX file. You just connect to the Data Flows that could feed multiple reports.

DAX is for Analysis. Power Query is for Data Modeling
