In power BI maps feature , I have a certain requirement.
I need to place markers (or an icon) in a particular place in the map based on the latitude and longitude. This is straightforward and easy to do
But the requirement is the Icon should be in the direction of where its facing . Suppose If its a fleet of "trucks" , i want to keep a small vehicle icon facing the north direction (based on a "direction" column)
I dont need to trace the route of the vehicle or anything. Just to rotate the icon as per the direction mentioned in column field. Please help..
Hi @hkmurali,
Based on the documents and my test, I afraid this is hard to achieve. If you can add an icon in the map, maybe you can add an predefined icon, which has direction and type (trucks).
name type direction iconURL
TruckNorth vehicle North http://... ...
TruckSouth vehicle South http://... ...
TruckWest vehicle West http://... ...
TruckEast vehicle East http://... ...
... ...
If you achieved this, could you please share with us.
Best Regards!
Dale
Any updates here pls?
I also have the same question here. Can someone from the support team help to provide the answer?
As we can see from tutorial video, a column called IconRotation has been dragged into Rotation field, but how shall we get the data ready for the IconRotation set?
