Manipulating a Specific Value in an API Data set

Hi!

I am using a API to pull in my data for my report. The data is available from March onward. I have the January and February data (not in the API). Is there a way to create a measure or manipulate a table so that I can create data to be graphed and connected to my date table?

               Month

Metric 1

Metric 2

Metric 3

In my mind it would have to be a measure, but I don't know how I would relate the measure to the January month.

Suggestions and help very appreciated!

Hi @Anonymous ,

If I understand your scenario correctly that you do have the data for January and February when you get data from API in Power BI Desktop and you want to calculate the monthly averages for the entire year.

I think you could create a table like below in Query editor and then Append the new table with the table load from API.

Then you could create the average monthly.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I still have a little confused about your scenario.

If it is convenient, could you share some data sample and your desired output so that we could help further on it.

Sorry if this is unclear.

This is the type of data available off of the API, starting in March.

I then create this measure:

Average cycle Time = AVERAGE( table[Cycle Time] )

I know the average for January is 34 days and the avergage for February is 55 days. I thought of making a measure:

January Average = 34

But I didn't know how to correctly connect that to my date table...I want to be able to graph, chart, and manipulate monthly averages for the entire year (somewhat seemlessly).

How do I manufacture the missing monthly averages and integrate them into my data?

Thanks!
