Make measure show Average not Sum

Hello,

I have this measure:  Availability = Divide( [Hours Operating],[Hours Irrad > 85 W/m^2]) that when put in Card visual shows Sum instead of average.

the two other measures are:

Hours Operating = Sum('Inverter Avail'[Value])/12

which calculates from here

And

Hours Irrad > 85 W/m^2 = CALCULATE(COUNTROWS(Irradance), Irradance[EXCUSEABLE EVENT (Y/N)] = "N", Irradance[AVERAGE POA IRRANDIANCE] >85)/12

It works as expected when its placed in a table visual like this:

but not when used in card visual:

Please help, thanks!

This measure AVG Utilization = DIVIDE([EES SK COUNT], AVERAGE(Query1[Number of Days])) is returning the right %, but when I dropped it on a table the grand total is summing. I want to show the total average instead. Any idea on how I can accomplish that? Thank you!

Share the download link of your PBI file and show the expected result clearly.

Hello!

I have the same issue, only with some values you don't get the option to select average at the card field. You will then only get the options Remove field, Rename, Show value as and New quick measure (see attached). Does anyone know how to change that and also choose the average, minimum, maximum, etc.?

It would help me a lot!

Hi,

Sweet Equity midpoint is a measure.  One cannot just change the calculation of a measure by right clicking.  That only works for bare numeric columns that you drag from physical tables.

Hi @Sab ,

You show this in Card, so it might calculate the sum of measure result instead of the value in table which calculated in row context. So if possible could you please inform me more detailed information(such as your expected output and your sample data (by OneDrive for Business))? Then I will help you more correctly.

Please do mask sensitive data before uploading.

Thanks for your understanding and support.
