I have two tables in Power BI. I want to take one column and look up the value in each row against the first column in another table and have it return a value. Every input from Table 1 will not be an exact match, but will need to match a string within the column of Table 2. I have asterisks already in the strings to match in Table 2.
How do I take a string from column 1 of Table 1, match it to the appropriate string in Table 2 and return the value in Table 2 to Table 1. Can I even use asterisks like this for wildcard matching, that is, not in the formula but in the string? I've tried using LOOKUPVALUE but haven't been able to make it do anything useful. It's a long list, and inputting each item I want to match isn't feasible, which is why I want to get lookup to work.
