Lookup Multiple users details found in one column using another table

Hello,

I have two tables that looks like this

Task Table

EmpIDTaskNumberUpdatedByTaskManager
1vv,2vv34525vv5vv
3ve3245vv5vv
3vv,3ve2386vv5vv,6vv

Users Table:

UserIDName
1vvUsername1
3veUsername2
3vvUsername3
2vvUsername4
3veUsername5
5vvUsername6
6vvUsername7

-Task Report table is containing all the tasks and users/employees working on it so two users can work on the same task

-Users Table: Containing all the users/employees details

I need to replace the IDs that are in the Task Report table by its matching name in the Users table

Expected results will be like this

Im not sure how to move forward with this and appreciate any tips.

Thank you!

Hi @SamOvermars ,

My understanding is that you want to match the id of the two tables, and the easiest way to do that is to create a relationship between the two tables:

vmengzhumsft_0-1662012937216.png

This also establishes the relationship between the id in the task table and the username in the user table, then you can achieve what you want, like this:

If I misunderstand your meanings , please let me know in time. Thanks in advance~

@SamOvermars Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
