Hi to all community!!
I'm facing the same issue described from other users: when I try to login from power BI desktop the authentication form freeze. Can't insert my credential and must kill the process from task manager.
Im on a VM installed with windows server 2016 standard and with pBI Desktop version: 2.88.1385.0 64-bit (december 2020).
The very strange issue is that the autentication problem came suddently after I had many days without any problem!!
I have made all the suggestion of this long tread: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/PBIDesktop-login-screen-freezing/m-p/1381327 without success. Can anyone help me ???
Thanks in advance

Hi @MFelix !
thanks for reply. The new fact is, as the issue happened suddently, the issue suddently disappears!
I asked help to my collegues that manage the VM; they made (I think) some software update. After that I logon to the VM and the domain authentication with pBI desktop was OK.
Nothing seem really depending by that update or domain authentication problems. But in the end -for the moment- the issue seem to be over.
Thanks for you interest in the issue

Hi @AgoZ_KH ,
Being this a very specif issue I would try and contact the support by making this post in the issues part of the forum.
I had some related issues about not being abble to load the models and so on and the microsoft team was very helpfull and they asked for further details and based on the machine configuration they were abble to find out what happened and made changes to the version that they were pushing in the next month.

Glad your issue is solved.
As refered there are some settings that sometimes mess up PBI desktop I had two installations of PBI on two computers with the same settings and setup and there was an error on one of them and the other was fine.
Strange things.
Please don't forget to mark your answer as correct to help others.
