Live connection back to local or merge 2 power BI files

Hi everyone,

due to compliance reasons we have to change our current report, which includes one dataset in PowerBI service (live conneciton) and one report as pbix, into one local pbix file.

I tried to combine the 2 pbix files after deleting the connection from the report pbix. But that did not work.

Is there any way to merge the dataset into the local report pbix without creating it from the start?

Based on my research, Power BI could not support this feature currently, I suggest you submit an idea in ideas forum:
