Listing values from Table and Sub tables

Hi,

I am new to PowerBI. Trying to figure out how would I visualize or show the list of values of a row that contains another subtable

For example: Parent table has 5 rows and has a column called: "extrainfo" which is a subtable that has bunch of rows and columns.

When i use the query - i can only show values from Parent table but cannot seem to show values from sub-table.

I want to be able to show

Value1-from-Parent-TableValue1-from-Parent-tableValue-from-subtable-row1
Value1-from-Parent-TableValue1-from-Parent-tableValue-from-subtable-row2
Value1-from-Parent-TableValue1-from-Parent-tableValue-from-subtable-row3
Value2-from-Parent-TableValue2-from-Parent-tableValue-from-subtable-row1

How do i go about doing this?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous ,

If you want to expand List, Record or Table in Power Query Editor, you may refer to the blog as below to learn more details.

For reference: Work with a List, Record, or Table structured column (Power Query)

I hope it could help you solve your problem.

Best Regards,
Rico Zhou

@Anonymous Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
