Hi All
I've got a question about the imported data tables from Dynamics 365. I want to create a entity link in Power BI between Activities and other entity tables like opportunities, accounts etc. What I want to do is setup a report visual where you can filter activities by opportunity name, account or contact but I can't determine what field links with the other entities. I noted that the activitypointer entity table has a field called regardingobjectid_value. I would assume this is the connector between activities and the other associated entity table. With that said, Power BI isn't detecting the relationhsip between them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @Mike282,
I would encourage you to read this article: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-desktop-create-and-manage-relationships/.
If you are working with Power BI Desktop app make sure that the automatic detection of relationships is enabled in File - Options and settings - Options:
Power BI can autodetect a relationship automatically if two columns in different tables are of the same type, they have the same names and their contents match. If Power BI Desktop cannot determine with a high-level of confidence there is a match, it will not automatically create the relationship. In that case you will have to create a relationship manually.
Hope that helps.
Best Regards,
Pawel
