In one report I have a link to another report. What I would really like is that the other report opens with specific filters set (e.g. the department). It does not necessarily have to be flexible, so if e.g. the exact department name is needed in a DAX formula that is no problem.
Any idea how to solve this?

Actually, in your scenario, we can use the drill through feature, it will apply the filter on the next page. If what you are using is the URL of the target page, you can also use the filtered URL as mentioned in the https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-url-filters
