Link to another report tab

Hi,

Is there a way to create a link on a report to another tab within the same report? I know that we can use a text box and put a link. But we need to hard-code the URL. And since the URL can change when publishing the first time on a workspace, this is not the best solution. We would like also to do conditionnal formatting on the link based on data.

Thank you

Hi,

Have you try bookmark? Let say you have 2 pages

  1. Create book mark in page 2 (named: go to p2)
  2. Creat a button and assign the action to this book mark.

I hope this help!

If you are using the javascript api you can acheive this by adding the following setting:

navContentPaneEnabled: true

config object looks like this:

var config= {
  type: 'report',
  tokenType: 1,
  accessToken: token,
  embedUrl: url,
  id: reportId,
  permissions: 7,
  settings: {
    filterPaneEnabled: filtersEnabled,
    navContentPaneEnabled: true,
    background: 1
  }
};

Hi @Anonymous

To create a link on a report to another tab within the same report, you could consider bookmarks

Use bookmarks to share insights and build stories in Power BI

for this requirement, "do conditionnal formatting on the link based on data", if i understand right, you are seek for conditional formatting for the data not for the link address, please refer to the following link.

Conditional formatting in tables or matrix

Best regards

@Anonymous,

Thank you, I wasn't aware of how button and bookmark was working. It resolved my problem.

For conditional formatting, we wanted to have the button background green or red depending on some data. It is not possible to do that currently. For now, I use a custom Card visual I found on marketplace. It's called Advance Card. It has the conditional formatting capability unlike the built-in Card. I put it above the button. It does the job.
