Hello All -
I am trying to plot Lat. and Long. of all airports globally on world map and it shows me all in one side of US map (screen attached for reference) but when use a country filter and filter it for a country, it works fine. Do we have any limit on number of data points allowed on world map?
Thanks,
Shabbir
Hi @shabbirmala,
It is a known issue that there is a limitation about data points number in Map Visual, please vote this issue in this idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/7394290-allow-more-data-points-to... .
And currently, the workaround is to add a calculated column to the location field which has Latitude and Longitude.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
Even with the calc columns, you are still limited to 3,500 records
@shabbirmala On top of what @deldersveld already said i think the limit is 1000 points that is if you hit that limit it also gives you warning that too many points. You should also consider using custom visual called GlobeMap.
Yes, you are hitting the limit. Since plotting all of these points on a world map would result in so many overlapping points anyway, you might consider switching to the Filled Map.
