Last Period (snapshot data)

Hello Community  - 

My model has a date table.   Date table is linked to the "as of date" in the Flu Snapshots table.  

The values below are correct...but they are appearing in the wrong months.    The value showing in April needs to be showing in March.    The value showing in March needs to show in February.    The value in February needs to show in January.  

In the filters, you can see that I have "last period" selected.   This is an aggregated value from our ERP table....it is a snapshot in time.   In this case, of accounting's reconciled total value of the month's shipments.   I only have this data in snapshot form...not a transactional table like you would normally expect of each day's shipments.    So the value I need, from each month, is the last day's value from that month.   

I have tried all kinds of formulas but nothing is working.   Seems like it should be simple  (and it probably is!).   

Measure 5 = CALCULATE(SUM(Flu_Snapshots[Actual Value]),ENDOFMONTH(Flu_Snapshots[As Of Date])

Hi Parry - Yes, I am familiar with that link.    I am not able to share a sample of the data model as it is huge and contains confidential data.     I thought the information I provided already would be sufficient, and I explained the expected result  -  which is to shift the values back by one month  (the value showing in April should instead show in March, etc...).   

I also provided the dax formula, explained that I do have a date table, explained the connection between the date table, and provided a picture of the visuals.   Short of uploading my actual file, which I cannot do, I am not sure what else is needed, but happy to try to add more information if I can.

Which table is the Month column in your visual from?

Measure = CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[value]),FILTER('Table','Table'[date]=EDATE(SELECTEDVALUE('Table (2)'[date]),-1)))

Hi Jay,

Unfortunately your formula just returned blank values.  

The month on the visual is coming from the dates table (month).    Here is my original formula.   The "as of date" is connected to the dates in date table.   

Measure 5 = CALCULATE(SUM(Flu_Snapshots[Actual Value]),ENDOFMONTH(Flu_Snapshots[As Of Date]))
