Last 12 months rolling sales

Hi experts
How would you calculate the last 12 months rolling sales based on a slicer year and month selection. So if I select 2018 and June as the month from the two slivers I want the measure to go back 12 months from June 18. The dates are in dim dates table and the sales is a measure called net sales

@avisingh and @MattAllington actually did a live YouTube stream today that references a rolling 90 day sales measure using the VAR function.  Take a look at the video (starting around the 24 minute mark) and see if it helps get you started.
