Keep selection when toggling visibility

Hello,

I would find particularly useful to be able to maintain the selection when the visual's visibility is toggled off. That would allow my client to select countries on a fill map, for example, and then hide that map, as if it was a slicer.

Does anyone know if that is something that could be considered, or if there is already some suitable alternative solution?

Thank you in advance,

/Flavio

@flaviotti - I am not certain I quite understand what you are going for but you should be able to achieve that with bookmarks tied to buttons and you set the bookmark to not bookmark the data I believe, which makes it maintain current user selections and not the data as set when the bookmark was created.

Thanks @Greg_Deckler  for the tip.

Unfortunately once the user selects the states from the map, of from any other visual other than slicers, the selections is reset to none once the bookmark toggle the visual off the screen.

I was trying to implement a button that would open a selection pane on top of the current report page by using a bookmark which would toggle the visibility of a group of objects containing the background of the selection pane, a map and other visuals guiding the users to their choices of multple selections on them. Once done, the panel visibility will be toggled off by the use of another bookmark on selected visuals. But when I toggle the visibility off that group, which includes the visuals with the selected rows, the selection is also cancelled.

At the moment I am working around this by using a slicer on the selection pane group. Slicers do maintain their selected rows also when not visible.

Thank you for your help,

/Flavio
