KPI indicators Gantt Chart by MAQ - I want my indicator to measure today relative to "End date"

Hey Everyone, 

So my work has tasked me to look into if Power Bi can be a good tracking / visual tool to keep on top of when contracts run out. 

I was wondering - when I turn KPI "day" from value to indicator, I get Red orange and green circles - however I don't really understand the logic behind these indicators and the colour? 

Furthermore - want to do (if possible) is to make these indicators be related to how many days there are between today and the contract end... is this possible?
