Issues while creating relationships between sharepoint online list and excel sheet

Hi,

I have an assignment in which I have to make a report using two different data sources. These data sources are the Excel Sheet and SharePoint Online list. The data from both the data source is related to each other but there is no connection between them. When I am trying to make a relationship between these two sources it is not allowing me to make the relationship and giving the error which I have mentioned below.

You cant create a relationship between these two columns because the 'Major' column in the 'Major Target' table contains null values.

Please help me in this regard.

Thanks.

Hi @WaleedBinAfzal,

As the error message, you cannot create relationship if the column contains null values. So you can replace the null to other values and try again. If the issue still occur, kindly share your sample data to me.

Hi @WaleedBinAfzal

Looks like you are using the 'Major' column to establish the relationship between the two tables. You can try and see if there is any other column that you can use to establish a relationship, which doesn't have null values (you can even create surrogate keys or derived columns).

Better yet, if it's possible to share sample data, maybe we can have more ideas.

Could you post a sample data? 🙂
