Issue Using PREVIOUSMONTH

Hi,

I have a fact table with the following columns: product line, end of month inventory count, and month number, and I also have a date table linked to this table by month number. Note that the fact table does not have the full date, only month number. I also have a measure like this:

StartingInventory = IF(SELECTEDVALUE(Table[MonthNumber])  <> 1, CALCULATE(SUMX(Table, Table[Inventory Count]), PREVIOUSMONTH('Date'[Date)), SUMX(Table, Table[Inventory Count]))

When I create a table with product line in the rows, month number in the columns, and StartingInventory in the values, I only get a value for the first month. I'm trying to get the measure to show the previous month's Inventory Count. Do I need to include some other function to use the PREVIOUSMONTH function since my fact table doesn't include a full date? Alernatively, I tried using this function to accomplish the same thing:

TryStartingInventory = CALCULATE(SUMX(Table, Table[Inventory Count], Table[Month Number] - 1)

and this gave me the same values as Inventory Count for each month (i.e., the offset didn't work). Thanks in advance for any help.

Figured this one out on my own. Needed an additional ALL filter in my CALCULATE function so that it read:

StartingInventory = IF(SELECTEDVALUE(Table[MonthNumber])  <> 1, CALCULATE(SUMX(Table, Table[Inventory Count]), PREVIOUSMONTH('Date'[Date]), ALL('Date')), SUMX(Table, Table[Inventory Count]))
