Hi,
New to power bi with bit a of MDX/SSAS knowledge.
I am trying to create a parallelperiod measure for an amount based on the users time period selection. ie
if user is viewing months, I would show previous month, quarter - previous quarter , year - previous year drilling up and down.
In mdx I could work out the dimensions hieararchy level and pass the correct interval, however this does not appear to be possible.
How can I tell where the user is on the date drilldown?
How can I use this to call parallelperiod with the right parameter?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards
J
Hi @Anonymous,
I am still confusing your requirement, could you please share more details and create a sample for analysis?
In Power BI, you can create a hierarchy by right clicking the field->New hierarchy. Then display it in a visual, so that you can drill down and see the specific value. There are some articles for your referance.

I want to show the previousperiod based on what level the user is on.
How can if the user is on month, quarter or year level so that the measure has the right parameter.
Unless this cannot be done on fly, ie parallelperiod is hardcoded to year, it will have to show regardless of level user is on.
Does that make sense?

Hi @Anonymous,
We can display the value in current level, we are unable to show the previous level value when we click the current level.
