Is it possible to transfer my calculations from excel sheet to power BI desktop?

Hello PowerBI Community!

I have a requirement where i need to replicate a cluster barchart from excel in PowerBI. There are complex calculations in the excel performed by someone long ago, The logic of those calculations is unclear. So, I am hoping if there is a process to replicate them directly using power query.

Thanks much in advance. Your help will be appreciated!

Hi @SriKandimalla ,

Would it be useful to just transfer the end values to Power BI for the chart.  What I mean is that the DAX language and the Excel Language are not exactly alike.  However if you built a table of values in Excel, and transfered that table of values to Power BI it would work.

Let me know if you have any questions.

If this solves your issues, please mark it as the solution, so that others can find it easily. Kudos are nice too.

@SriKandimalla

if the excel you are referring to currently utlilizes a Power Pivot data model/Power Query, the whole model including measures and calculated columns, KPI, Power Queries (with the background calulations and formulas) can be exported into Power BI utilizing File>Import>Power Query, Power Pivot, Power vIew.

if the excel you are referring to currently does not utilize either Power Pivot or Power Query than I am not too sure.
