Hi All,
Just starting out with PowerBI. I know I can use a JSON file as a data source and that I can use a folder as a data source, but I'm wondering how I use a directory of JSON files as my data source?
I successfully setup the folder as a data source but that just returns info. on the files in the folder, not the content of the files, which is what I'm really looking for.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave

When you load your query, you should get a "Transform File from json" group of queries. Click on the one that says "Transform Sample File from json". It will have a table icon next to it. You should see that you have one or more columns that say "Record" or something similar. There will be divergent arrow icons in the column headers. Click those and choose to expand. Continue expanding as necessary.

Hmmm...I'm not seeing that. Here is what I am seeing:
Click the drop down arrow on Combine button and choose Combine and Edit.
Hi Folks,
I'm just starting with Power BI. I have a directory full of JSON files. I don't want to query against a single one of the files but against the directory as a whole.
I see I can load a JSON file as a data source or I can load a directory as a data source, but the loading a JSON file doesn't let me select the entire directory and the load a directory seems to pull in info about the file rather than the contents of the file.
Is there a way for me to load the entire directory but have it load the actual contents of the files rather than just info. about the files?
Thanks
Dave
