My question is related to the following thread: (Sorry for creating another thread but I marked this one as resolved)
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Adding-ODBC-datasource-to-gateway/m-p/744160#M358758
I corrected the above issue on my personal computer. However, now I downloaded the gateway on another computer (and deleted the one on my personal pc), and the gateway is up and running. When I try to add a datasource to the gateway from my computer I get the same exact error as on the above thread.
If I need to download the ODBC driver on the other computer and connect it to the datasource, what's the point of having a gateway? I thought downloading just the gateway and nothing else would be enough.
My database runs on localhost:4200. Does that mean that database and gateway have to run always on same computer?
Thank you

Hi @Georger2323 ,
As I know, the data source and the gateway could run on different computer.
So if your data source is on A computer and gateway is on the B conputer, if you could have access to the data source in computer B, then you could add the data source to the gateway in computer B.
Hope my explanation is clear.
Best Regards,
Cherry
