I'm posting to see if there is anyone experiencing increased instability with the December '21 Release of Desktop.
I've had to resort to saving my file after every little action due to Desktop becoming unresponsive during the following actions:
1. Create a Measure
2. Edit a Measure
3. Turn on Conditional Formatting
4. Edit Conditional Formatting
In the last few weeks, I've had to force quit Desktop around 4-5 times in an 8 hour day, which is not at all the experience I use to have. If anything, PBI Desktop was the most stable program I used.
My machine hasn't changed that I'm aware of, though it is managed by our IT team.
Windows Server 2016 Standard
Intel Xeon @ 2.20GHz, Quad
32 GB of Ram
Is this a personal problem or a known issue?
Thanks

The Windows 10 machine does seem to be far more stable & quicker. I only had 1 hang up/force quit when changing pages, and still the nagging issue where selecting a Measure does not show the Formula Bar sometimes.
For now, I'm consluding that recent PBI Desktop updates do not play well with Windows Server 2016.
@cassidy interesting, looking forward to your findings. already something new to learn. cheers!!

@cassidy are you using windows 11? I'm still on windows 10 and not sure if windows 11 is causing some grief.

So far, after an hour of editing, Windows 10 is flying compared to Windows Server 16, despite having half the RAM. None of the same issues. I'll compare a full day tomorrow.
@cassidy Also are you using store version or downloaded version, maybe try the alternate one to see if that makes a difference.

It's the downloaded version, the Store always throws some sort of error, gave up on it.
I will try it on my normal Windows 10 laptop, I typically use the other machine because it has double the RAM.
@cassidy I have upgraded to Dec, 2021 since it is available and didn't notice any issue. Maybe try to use it on a different machine for a few hours/days and see if you are still running into an issue.
