So we have hundreds of Excel workbooks sitting in Onedrive folders that we have connected to a Power BI dataset. Each Excel workbook represents a month. This datasource is being used in a Power BI dataset that also has data that is refreshed daily.
We have the dataset to refresh daily, however, this takes longer than we would like as it has to refresh the hundreds of Excel files that do not have any new data.
I thought incremental refresh would be the answer, but from my understanding, incremental refresh cannot be used with flat files (meaning Excel files?) due to query folding. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.
So is there any solution to the above scenario to cut down on refresh times? All Excel files involved are stored on OneDrive.
Hi,
I have exact same issue. Please tell me, have you find a solution for your case?
Thanks in advance
Alex
