In a 'Line and stack Column Chart' when does the 'Show Marker' option appear?

Hi,

I'm trying to create a report with a few graphs on the same report.

I have one graph where the bar chart is based on the sum of a column and the line is based on a measure. In the formatting pane, the option to 'Show Markers' appears without a problem.

I have a second very similar graph, there the option to 'Show Marker' doesn't exist. The bar chart in that case is again based on an aggregation of a metric and the line is based on a measure. However, the option to 'Show Marker' doesn't appear. Why?

Are there limitations on when the 'Show Marker' option appears?

Hi,

I was looking at your issue as I was noticing that the "show marker" option did not appear for my line chart. I realized the issue I was having.

My x-axis were an array of dates. However, the x-axis "type" setting was set to continous, which obviously cannot associate a marker. Switching the "type" to categorical resolved the issue.

Did this help you??

thanks,

Ron

Hi @Anonymous,

Based on test, if you drag category as the axis, the option will display. If you drag duration type columns(for e.g. date), it will disappear. It seems 'Line and stack Column Chart' not support date or other duration columns.

Hi Xiaoxin Sheng,

I'll take another look, although I'm not exactly sure what you mean. I have two graphs, both of which have week number on the x-axis with different metrics shown. One of them allows markers and the other doesn't.

Hi @Anonymous,

>>One of them allows markers and the other doesn't.

Can you please provide this pbix file for test?
