Importing Salesforce .xlsx into Power BI

Hi there,

if I import an .xlsx file from Salesforce into Power BI, there are instances where there are merged rows (number may vary) for a particular record.

Essentially there are merged rows that appear as one row and when one tries to import this data, the field will show it as 'Blank' when in fact it is non-empty.

I would post an attachement but I'm not sure about the policy here nor is it available.

How would I write the DAX query for this? Is this the best route?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

In the Query Editor, there is a Fill > Down feature.  Try that.

Hi,

In the Query Editor, there is a Fill > Down feature.  Try that.

This worked.

However for existing entries that had '-' it had populated the ones under it from 'null' to '-'.

I do not understand.  Please clarify.

So some rows were entered with a value.

Some where left as '-' with merged rows which would have 'null' in the Query editor for these merged rows.

Once I apply Fill->Down, it will work for existing entries that have null values and populate them thereby reducing the number of 'Blanks' but at the same time, it will populated '-' for null values.

I'd have to look into resolving this but you answered my question.

@Nusc not fully sure what you mean by salesforce .xlsx file. are you saying you have two data sources, salesforce and excel file which you want to merge in powerBI?

Please clarify.
