Image url in a force direct graph

Hello-

I am trying to visualize the relathionship between users and specific keywords by using a force direct graph.  Instead of the node displaying the user name, I'd like to show a user picture.  I tried using the url image box but can't seem to get it to work.

Here is my data:

User          Keyword

Paul          Disruptive

Jake          Disruptive

Paul          Transformation

I tried using the string for an image in my documents as follows: C:\Users\pfergy\Pictures\Employee Pics\pfergy

I also used the image extension of '.png'

Am I missing something?  Sorry - I'm fairly new to this tool.  Thanks for the help!

Hi pfergy,

Based on my test, I found that the “image url” doesn’t support the local path, you need to use “http image folder path”.

The force direct visual display image follow below rules:

Full url of image = “Image url” + “Source type”/”Target type” + “Image extension”.

e.g.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Microsoft/PowerBI-visuals-core/resources/images/reports/ForceGraph...Home.PNG

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Microsoft/PowerBI-visuals-core/resources/images/reports/ForceGraph...Shared.PNG

Comment:

“Image url” :  the image folder’s path(not support the local path)

“Image extension”: the suffix of the image source.(.png , .jpg)

“Default image”:  one of available values in “Source type”/”Target type” fields.

If you want to know more detail about this visual, you can download the sample to test:

@pfergy Basically you need to supply image url as in below image. Try this url in Image URL section https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Microsoft/PowerBI-visuals-core/resources/images/reports/ForceGraph...
