If you want to add "Column series", there should be only one field in Column value?

Hello,

I have this line and stacked column chart set up. See below:

I have two fields in "Column values", "Actual Volume" and "Backlog Volume". (My actual volume is from the past from table A and my backlog volume is from the future months in table B.) I want to add "Product Category" in the "Column series", but it doesn't allow me to drag "Product Category" field into "Column series".

I tried to delete one column value and only kept one, then the system allowed me to drag "Product Category" field into "Column series".

Is it set up that way --- if you want to add "Column series", there should be only one field in Column value? If not, how can I add "Product Category" in the "Column series" with two fields in Column values?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi ymobbs,

It seems to be the design. When you have two values in column value, it will show legends based on two fields instead of Categories or column series(so you can't add field in series ). When you have one field in column value, then the chart will show legend based on column series. I think this is by design.
