How to user Teams folder to Power BI as a Source?

Hi 

 

Present I'm using source as Excel file that are avaiable in my Remote Machine - and using those as source to the Power BI desktop.

 

Now the Management wants to uses the Teams folder ( wehre the folder is created in Teams and will going to kept the excel files in the Teams folder), Now i want to use that Teams folder as source to my Power BI.

 

My Teams access and my Power BI is avaible in the same Remote machine. How to use that ?

 

1.) Now the intention is we already developed the reports, now we want to change the source to the Teams folder with out disturbing the development reports.

2.) How to use teams folders as source to Power BI, I tried to put the copied teams url to the source as "Sharepoint folder" but its throwing error.

If you want to  connect to excel file from MS Teams with Power BI Desktop,please refer to this official documnet to get the url of excel and try "web connector".

You need to remove ?web=1 string at the end of the link as mentioned in the article. 

 

If you want to connect to folder from MS Teams, please try "sharepoint connector".

After connecting you need do some filtering on the “Folder Path” column and select the folder where your data is being stored so you only get the files from it.

hi,

 

You can check the link for the sharepoint folder of teams

click on open in sharepoint and you will get the share point site  from there you can connect to sharepoint folder from power BI.

Ya i tried that in Remote machine, I copied it the url but still throwing an error. Then Input URL is invalid.

Do not copy whole URL you copy only till site name(Team Name) exmample.
