How to transpose Day of Month columns to rows in a table?

Hi Folks,

I have data in Excel originally like below to be imported to Power BI:

Original.JPG

In the Edit Quries I want to transpose the month to a new column and have the amount show in a new column but keep the first 4 columns (BU, Obj Acc, Sub, Desription) unchanged, like below:

Expected.JPG

However, when I use the transpose function in "Transform" tab the first 4 columns will get transposed too.

Is there a way I can shape my data the way I expected?

Thank you your help in advance, I have tried so many different ways in Power BI but no success.  I really need someone's advice.

Raymond

Hi @clubspec,

Sounds like Unpivot Other Columns will help you out.  Select the first four columns, then select Unpivot other Columns, and rename the new columns.

Thank you so much @MarkS

It works, didn't know it is that easy.  I'm a Power BI beginner.
