How to sum these numbers in excel

Hi All,

 

Could anybody knows how to summation operation for the below numbers in excel:

This one is not allowing me to do sum.

16,500.00
9,900.00
17,400.00
3,330.00
15,143.95
 
750
1,000.00
2,400.00
3,400.00
14,250.00
 
28,000.00
28,000.00
26,000.00
26,000.00
3,330.00
5,000.00
5,000.00
5,000.00
3,024.00

hi @Shuwyyyy 

 

probably you copied/loaded data that has different symbols for thousand seperator and comma than you in the regionals settings of your windows.

 

to fix:

- select column

- replace . by ,

- replace , by .

- replace <space> by nothing

 

after that all figures should be aligned right, indicating they are now numbers you can calculate with

I am getting zero after summing up all the numbers:

here is the example

With alignment to left, I doubt they are treated as text. can you change the format and check? Also, I see a few entries having space instead of a comma. Not sure if it copy-paste issue or it is there is excel too

After selecting all the data values it should an icon with !mark. Where it will give the option to convert to number. Or use the option to convert to number. It should allow doing the sum.

@Shuwyyyy  Are you looking how to sum these numbers in excel file ? If yes, then here is the screenshot. If you are looking for logic in Power BI, then simply do the SUM(ColumnName) after importing the excel file.

thank you @PattemManohar for your reply...but i cannot able to do the sum operation because of the comma available between the numbers.
