How to sort a report based on a field which is not part of visualization

Hi All,

I need to sort a report/visualization based on a field that is not part of the report/visualization.

Example: In a report I'm displaying 2 fileds like "Column A" and "Column B" as a text table and I need to sort this table using "Column C" which is not part of the report/visual.

Is there any approach to do this.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi @AnandNamburi ,

There seems to be no way to sort by column c without adding it, but we can add column c to the text table, and then we can reduce the size of the table visual to hide column c. Or you can edit the format of this visual and set the column c conditional formating which background and font color is "transparent".

Result:

Or present your ideas on power bi ideas.

@AnandNamburi , In a few visuals, which allow adding tooltip column, you can sort on tooltip column. Otherwise you have to check the sort column option
