How to show ranking values for role based access users

Hi, I developed a matrix which shows the rankings of certain areas and this works fine. My issue is that when I send it to a user with restricted access based on role based security, then they always see 1 regardless of the user. I would like each user to see their 'true' ranking and am hoping there is a way to do this. Below is a hypothetical example of my issue.

Example: The below areas have the following rankings

Area        Rank

South      1

North      2

East         3

West       4

Issue is when each area (user) accesses the matrix they see 1 as their ranking i.e. West users see 1 (instead of 4), East sees 1 (instead of 3).

I would like each user to see their 'true' ranking i.e. West should see 4, East should see 3, etc

Is there a way to do this. If so could you provide an example of the DAX if applicable.

Regards,

Frank

Hi,

According to your description, i create a table to test:

191.PNG

Then, create a measure and a column to calculate its rank:

Rank-Measure = RANKX(ALLSELECTED('Table'),CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[Scores])))
Rank-Column = RANKX('Table','Table'[Scores])

And it shows:

192.PNG

When apply R-L-S, it shows:

193.PNG

So, please try to create a calculated column to show its rank.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Giotto Zhi

Hi this I think only works if the field is not a measure - my field that I am ranking on is a measure and hence when I try your solution is does not work and is complaining about a circular dependency.

Regards, Frank
