How to refresh the excel datasets by another excel with same column by monthly

Hi all @needhelp @camargos88 

I have single dataset in excel and using that i loaded into power bi and made visualization but ill recieve same file monthly so i need to refresh or append the newly recieved excel file.

kindly suggest your answer please.

So the excels have the same columns and schema just different date and value. With this condition, try the following:

1. If you only need to see the new excel data, you can replace the new excel name to the connected excel name. For example, you have connected a excel file named CurrentMonth, every month you receive a new excel, you can change this old excel to Year and Month (2020May), and change the new excel to CurrenMonth. Power bi will refresh the data in the new file named current month.

2. Another way you can try is get data from folder, please refer to this tutorial. You just need put the new received excel to the connected folder.

What is the data source for the monthly file? Simplest is to use Get Data From Folder, but depending on what changes with that monthly dataset you may also want to look at parameters.
