How to provide permission to login user, with out using role option in SSAS Tabular model in PBI

Hi Team, How to provide security access to resource in application , like read, write access , with out using role option in SSAS tabular model and display power bi report in application. Client want to display permissions based on the login user in the front end application, so back end, with out using Role option in SSAS tabular model, how to provide permission? Is their any another way, please assist. Thanks Kunuthuri

Hi @Anonymous,

 

AFAIK, power bi as connector use windows credentials to get data from SSAS datasource, it means current user need it has corresponded role on database side with permissions.  Maybe you can try to use other connector to login to SSAS database.(e.g. ole db connector)

Client libraries (data providers) used for Analysis Services connections
