How to project built analyses on updated data model with new columns

Hey folks,

I am currently facing the situation that we are in an agile process with a client. The client provides the data model in a .pbix format and wishes to keep all data manipulation on his side.

We are continuously building analyses and creating measures. We noticed that we need additional columns to our tables. The client will update the model and send us an data model / .pbix file with the additional columns added. We want to keep all the dashboards we build, i. e. project the surface (our analyses) onto the updated data model.

Outline:

Client provides data model DM 1.0 as .pbix

We build analysis A 1.0 on DM 1.0

- - - new requirements - - -

Client adds columns and provides DM 1.1 as new .pbix (not containing our analyses)

We want to project A 1.0 on DM 1.1

How is that possible?

Thank you very much and best regards

Tim

Hi @t_guet01 ,

If only uses single report with the latest datasets, as far as I know, it is not supported in power bi.

If you can retain the report with the previous datasets, and the new dataset just add new columns which other fields are the same as the previous, create a new report based on the new dataset, publish both of them to power bi service and try to use cross-report drillthrough to show your pevious analysis.

Please refer: Use cross-report drill through in Power BI
