Hi there,
In the past we have connected to JIRA REST API only with email/password. Now we have a situation in which we can only access JIRA with VPN. I would like to work with my company account.
How should we proceed? I believe we need to install a gateway on the virtual machine...
Best wishes.

Hi , @campelliann
Under normal circumstances, as long as your local computer can access the data source after enabling the VPN, you can download the local data gateway on the computer and connect to the data source on Power Bi Service. But only if you need to keep your VPN open and connected. However, downloading the on-premises data gateway is a must, and you can test it.

Neither will help you. Unless you can establish the VPN connection permanently or automatically you are doomed. Power BI cannot do that for you.
Hi , @campelliann
According to your description, the datasource you connected need to use VPN.
As far as I understand, first of all, in Power BI Desktop, if you use a VPN (which may not support VPN files) to access the resources of another network segment, you should be able to connect directly to Desktop.
For Power BI Service, if your data source is on a network segment that is not accessible to a public network, you need to install the on-premises data gateway on a computer that can access the network segment.

Hi there. Thank you for your detailed answer.
This situation is a little bit simpler than what I initially thought. I can access JIRA with my physical machine, but I need to have the VPN connected. As long the VPN is connected at the time of the refresh (along with the gateway) the schedule refresh should work, right?
Thanks
