How to pick up first character from PRO_CLASS field as Brand_Name ?

you can also perform the same in power query select the column and split the colum with delimeter

@Paulyeo11 , Try like this in dax

new column =
var _pos = search(" ",[pro class],,0)
return
left([pro class],_pos-1)

 

In power query you can split column

//NewColumn =
var spacefind1=find(" ",Orders[Customer Name])
return
var extractingword=left(Orders[Customer Name],spacefind1)
return extractingword

change bold headers accordingly with your data
