How to optimize a report for the powerBi report server?

Hello all,

I'm looking for some advices to improve my model hosted on powerBI report server.

The report is mainly opened from remote locations and the loading time could be quite long...

So far this is what I've done (found on forums and blogs):
- Delete every column in every table that are not used in the model.

- Load only relevant data

- Transform all decimal numbers to integers

- Remove automatic Date/Hours

By doing this the file size droped by 20%.

I tried to implement RLS but it has no impact on the loading time of the report.

Do you know if creating measures increase the loading time?

Does enabling "both" cross filter direction increase the loading time?

In case you have any idea or advice, let me know.

Thanks,

A

Bi-Directional join takes time. So try to avoid that.

If you have hosted BI Server than the size data matters less, what used in the report matter most.  So keep the Page lightweight.

@amitchandak  Many thanks, I've been through all links and I'll try to implement it to give it a try.
