Hi,
Suppose I am creating reports using Excel files every month. Now after a month or so, the number of columns change. How can i update the same report using the new data ? Is there any way the reports can handle the changes in data skeleton.
Regards,
Some

Hi @Anonymous ,
do you need the new columns? If not, then there is a command: RemoveOtherColumns that let you keep just the columns you need.
If you need the columns, you should probably do a "unpivot other columns"-operation, as the structure of your data source doesn't let you use the column names as identifiers.

It's tough when they change the underlying data on you. This is going to depend heavily on what you are doing in your query and where they are adding columns (to the end, in the middle?) @ImkeF might have some best practices on how to handle this sort of thing.
