How to make old power BI dashboard compatible with new version

All,

How do I make the old P-BI dashboards compatible with the new version? I have downloaded the newer version on my laptop. Every time I try to open the dashboard i get the below error message:

@Anonymous

Open the new version of the Power BI, go to the Help tab and click on About and make sure you have the latest version. Now, from the File > open Report > Browse Report select the old file and open it.

If you still face the issue, uninstall all versions of Power BI and download and install the latest version from : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494

Hey @Anonymous ,

your Power BI Desktop version is older than the version with which the PBIX file was created.

Update your Power BI Desktop to the latest version and you should be able to open the file.

If you need any help please let me know.
If I answered your question I would be happy if you could mark my post as a solution ✔️ and give it a thumbs up 👍

Best regards
Denis

I downloaded the newer version of the desktop. The files are still in old format.
