How to make filters show all values when another filter is in use?

I have a report in which the regions are based on the countries. For eample:

North Europe

DK
North EuropeSE
North EuropeFI
South EuropeIT
South EuropeES

I have created a region filter, and a country filter, so that when North Europe is selected, only DK, SE and FI shows in the country filter.

Is it possible to make the country filter show all countries (in this case show IT and ES, when North Europe is selected? So that users have the options to click on for example, IT, and the region filter will then select both South Europe and North Europe.

Thank you!

It all depends on your table structure, if they in the same table, that should automatically if you have 2 slicers and select the region first

yes, now the region slicer filters the country slicer.

What I want to achieve, is when a region is selected, countries which are not part of that region, still shows up in the country slicer.

Hi @Anonymous ,

you need to turn off the interaction between the two slicers, but be aware that if the users select different option from both the slicer they will get blank visuals, so may not be very intuitive in terms of user experience.

So there is no way to make two filters that can filter each other both ways? I dont want to turn off the interaction between them, instead, I want them to be interactive.

@Anonymous i think we missing some information here, can you show us your relationship diagram?  if they are in same table the fields, you should be able to filter one slicer and get the other to automatically adjust to the values that are related to that value.

If you have them in separate tables, you will need a bi directional filter that filters both ways

if you are expecting it to impact the actual visuals you need to change the interaction in the ribbon menu ie. format / edit interactions which will adjust your visuals

if you provide screenshots of your data and what you trying to do this will help us to help you.

Hi @Anonymous ,

But if you have the need to have the interaction between both when you select IT you will only get Shout Europe and not both values in the region slicer.

Or have we missunderstood your question?
