How to make a copy of yesterday's data before refreshing in power bi

Hi ,

I'm trying to create a report showing various stages a fund moves across before it finally gets lodged (accounting stuff) so i'm trying to capture the info on a dialy basis something like below. But my challenge is the moment the status changes the previous days figures will be altered as well. I'm looking for a way to freeze the top line before the data in the report gets refreshed.sample.png

Thanks,

Meg

Have you thought about creating a Power Automate flow that replicates the files on a daily basis? Could that work? Not precise nor ideal, but maybe better than nothing?

Hi @Anonymous

Based on my research, we’re not able to make a backup copy of the last data before refreshing in Power bi.

Here’s case for your reference with idea raised ; https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/store-historical-data-from-Power-BI-Online/m-p/128189#M54447 and another solution using Power Shell and Power bi : https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Storing-and-using-information-from-a-dynamic-data-source-using/m-p/207293#U207293

You can vote it to bring the feature coming soon: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/13832208-auto-scheduled-export-of-data
