How to make Power BI calculate the average instead of the sum

Hi everyone,

I am quite new in Power Bi and have a little problem:
I created several slicers. Now I would like that if I select several attributes power Bi shows the average in my chart instead of the sum.
how do i do that?

By selecting SZE-F270 AND SZE-K7 I want the average to be shown. Thank you for your help

Hey @Anonymous,

please select your visual.

  1. Then go to the value column in the visual pane and right click it
  2. Select Average

Hi @Anonymous ,

If you want to show average value when select the machine name but show total when not select it, we can create a measure and put it into the value field of bar chart.

Measure =
IF (
    ISFILTERED ( 'Table'[Machine Name] ),
    AVERAGE ( 'Table'[Value] ),
    SUM ( 'Table'[Value] )
)
