How to just use one measure in a table visual to calculate something for 7 consecutive days?

I have a table visual that I want to show the employee working for each day (Monday through Sunday).  Only the date is different for each day.  I had to create 7 measures, one for each day (column).  How can I do it with just one measure?

Hi @wpf_ ,

You can consider to use Performance analyzer to comare the performance for these two methods.

Hi @wpf_ ,

Could you please consider sharing some sample data without sesentive information and expected output for further discussion? Sample data and expected output would help tremendously.

@v-yingjl ,

If i were to use just one measure, but using the measure 7 different times based on 7 different column filters versus using 7 different measures over the same 7 columns, would performance be the same since both will be calculating  7 different times? (assuming all measures are the same except for the different dates from the columns)  If so, is limiting the use of multiple measures less of a performance thing and more of a organizing thing?

@wpf_ the best way is to unpivot your table in the Power Query, so your days are on rows not in columns and then you can add one measure and by using matrix visual, you can show days on the column.

@parry2k Thanks I think i know what you mean.  My dates are already in rows in a table.  But this table contains the employees approved vacations, which has their name and the date of leave and their replacement.  So they are not consecutive dates and it does not include all the employees.  The list of all the employees are in another table.  Some of them do not have vacation dates put in.

In the matrix visual i would like to have all the employees listed on the rows, then 7 consecutive days on the columns, beginning with the date i select in the date slicer.  Then the values would be the employee that is working that day, depending if they are on vacation or not, and who their replacements are.

Hi,

Share some data, explain the question and show the expected result.
