How to insert an average onto a report

Hi Everyone - urgent help required.

I have compiled a large table in Excel which summarizes sales value and units sold by day, by hour and by product. I am using a line and stacked column chart in Power BI which works extremely well. But I am really struggling to insert an average value either onto a separate visual or within the column chart. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi @Garrett100,

You could add the average value to the column or the line. Did you get any error messages?

1Average = AVERAGE('Sales'[Quantity])

Hi @Garrett100,

You may use DAX AVERAGE function to create an average measure but this will get the average values of a column.

If you want to get an average based on something else  you may use AVERAGEX.

Once you drag the field that you need to under "Value", you can click on the drop down and select Average.
